Introduction:

“Uh yeah, I got a kid somewhere.” Charles Manson said in a 1981 interview on, “Tomorrow with Tom Snyder.”  The child he was referring to was Jason Freeman’s natural father, Charles Manson Jr. He later became known as Jay White, but it was more like a cover. Hiding the heinous birthday name his own father tarnished.

Manson was the family’s real surname.

Freeman’s natural father missed Jason growing up. Writing an occasional letter was his only involvement. Never talking face-to-face, Freeman didn’t understand what was going on with his natural father. Freeman, later would learn more and begin to understand the impact of Charles Manson directing the most horrific Hollywood murders ever. His natural father was unable to withstand the shadow of Charles Manson which ultimately claimed his life. Freeman knew part of that same intense shadow hovered over him, but he decided to fight back.
